About Us

The dream for the Cakery started in 2013 when Jillian Butler decided to leave her corporate job to pursue her personal dreams, and so started Jillian’s Cakery. In 2020 Jillian decided that she wanted to step down to spend more time with her family, and focus on writing her book. So she handed over the reigns to one of her employees Caryn Greyling, who together with her mother Nadene have been running Jillian’s Cakery since then.  Other than that not much has changed, we still make the same delicious products with the same amazing team. One change that have made is to rename and rebrand Jillian’s Cakery to Sydney Cakery.

Now our family work to honour that vision to create great tasting vintage cakes and teats. But we don’t simply make great cakes at Sydney Cakery; we have tried to create a beautiful sanctuary where cake is king, coffee is revered, and service is paramount. We also have a lot of fun along the way. We are consistently voted some of Sydney’s best cakes, please call or stop by if you get a chance.  We would love to meet you and help you celebrate your next personal victory, birthday, large corporate event or whatever.
